Our history
Established in 1996
We are a small artisan company founded in 1996, with a deep passion for astronomy and an ambitious goal: to build the telescope of my dreams.
I wanted to revolutionise the world of the Dobson, I wanted to improve the shortcomings of this type of mount and so I started thinking day and night, I had to make something rigid, vibration-free with fluid movements but at the same time transportable, allowing any amateur astronomer to explore the sky from anywhere.
So I started to study, read, and compare myself with other astrophiles.
My journey began with a year’s work at M111, but my vision required an independent venture.
Thus, a few years later the first Maser was born.
The name, a tribute to my roots, not only maser is also a device that produces electromagnetic waves. When I finally completed the first 20’ all-metal Dobson, I felt an indescribable joy. However, I felt that something was missing. I continued to study, design and compare with other astronomy enthusiasts, taking feedback from early customers to constantly improve the Maser. With my wife joining the company, our path to excellence expanded: we were starting to build telescopes for observatories large enough to require a collective effort. As the years went by, the Maser evolved into the SuperMaser, a mechanical work of art unparalleled in its kind.
Today, our company rests on three pillars: me, my wife and my son with a drive and determination to bring about truly amazing changes.
We decided to reflect our commitment in our company logo: the octagon, inspired by the structure of the SuperMaser, accommodates the T for ‘telescope’ and the R for ‘Reginato’. Over the years, we have collaborated with numerous companies and enthusiasts from all over the world, supplying not only telescopes, but also glass optics and semi-finished products. There has been no shortage of criticism, but each time we have found someone ready to praise our work for the beauty of the instruments, attention to detail and after-sales service.
We are constantly striving for perfection in the world of astronomy.
